A hotel (may also be known as a hostel, a lodge, or an inn) is a facility designed to provide temporary housing (a practice called lodging). Unlike a residential area, a hotel is exclusively aimed towards non-residents (referred to as guests). A typical hotel possesses 20 rooms. Hotel rooms provide many of the same amenities as a residential area, even using a similar layout to one, with the notable addition of a dedicated housekeeping staff, complete with housekeeping quarters.
Just like with regular residential areas, hotels have managers who answer to the mayor, with very similar duties and responsibilities. In hotels, the manager is also a head janitor, serving as the head of housekeeping.
Each hotel may offer different amenities, from low-cost, high-density guest dorms to expensive, luxurious, one- or two-bedroom guest rooms. See the lodging services section for more information.
Most hotels are owned by the town, although certain hotels may actually be under the private ownership of incredibly rich individuals. It's not certain how much a hotel is worth, but they are estimated to be worth multiple millions of Parallars.

Lodging services
Visitors may check into the hotel by requesting a room in the lobby. Hotels fall into four different star ratings, ranging from 1-star ★ (cheap, high-density, low privacy) to 4-star ★★★★ (each hotel room has a luxurious king-size bed for one or two guests). The price of a 24-hour stay varies depending on the number of stars the hotel has been rated.
From a statistical point of view, there is no practical difference between a ★ or a ★★★★ hotel. The extra privacy and comfort may make the experience more enjoyable, but the amenities of a ★★★★ room does not heal more Fatigue, Inebriation or Stress than those of a ★ room.
To check the star rating of each hotel, see this section.
