Advanced handloading services

Fortunate characters may have access to the machinery and tooling of certain factories, enabling a range of advanced services that may allow handloaders to manufacture their components straight from raw materials. Access to these services should be restricted to most characters, but makes for a good quest reward.
Three services can be provided by an ammunition factory:
- Factory-assisted handloading: If you have the components, but no kits, or if you simply want the hassle of loading ammunition to be handled by machines, you may deliver all compatible components to a factory, which will load any quantity of ammunition for you in 1 day period. Please note that ammunition obtained this way will not result in gaining Skill Points, since you are not loading it yourself.
- Case and hull manufacture: Detailed in its own section below
- Projectile manufacture: Detailed in its own section below
One additional service can be provided by an explosives factory:
- A powder and primer shop, which offers every type of primer and every type and quality of powder in large quantities and at a discount compared to gun shops and weapon shops, as they are manufactured on site.

Case and hull manufacture
It is possible for a factory to manufacture casings and hulls straight from raw materials. All (P)istol (R)ifle caliber casings are made out of brass, whereas (S)hotgun caliber hulls are made out of brass and plastic, with the exception of 12 gauge CAWS hulls, which are 100% brass.
Requirements:
- Select a suitable caliber (all except .22 Long Rifle, 4.2x30mm R Golden Gun or 4.73x33mm Caseless
- Bring brass bars to be cut and shaped into cases or hulls
- If the selected caliber is 12 gauge, 20 gauge or .410 bore, you also need boxes of plastic sheets; 1 plastic sheet will be used per hull
The size of a batch of cases/hulls depends on the amount of brass inserted and the individual Weight of a case - the higher, the more brass will be required to make one, and therefore the smaller the batch.
The table below displays the amount of cases/hulls obtained for every size of brass bar available in the game:
Case/Hull weight | Calibers | Batch size (100g brass) |

Projectile manufacture
Like with cases and hulls, it is possible to manufacture projectiles from raw materials. Different projectile types require different raw materials.
Raw materials used:
- Various metals, available as metal bars:
- Lead
- Copper
- Steel
- Tungsten carbide
- Miscellaneous items:
- Magnesium explosive (MgX) charges, for the manufacture of API and I-Slug ammunition
An ammunition factory will turn your metal ingots (and, if needed, your MgX charges) into fixed batches of projectiles. Because various projectiles have various masses, you must supply at least a sufficient amount of metals and charges to make a full batch. The supplied ingots will be consumed, even if there would otherwise be "leftover" metal.
The table below will display the size of one batch (in amount of projectiles), and the total mass of one batch. The actual amount of metal that must be supplied depends on the projectile type desired:
(P)istol projectiles:
- Lead, LSWC, LSWCHP: 100% Lead
- FMJ, JSP, JHP, Match: 90% Lead + 10% Copper
- SF, UHS: 100% Copper
- AP: 40% Lead + 50% Steel + 10% Copper
(R)ifle projectiles:
- Lead: 100% Lead
- FMJ, JSP, JHP, Match: 90% Lead + 10% Copper
- HPX, SF, UHS: 100% Copper
- AP: 40% Lead + 50% Steel + 10% Copper
- APX: 40% Steel + 50% Tungsten carbide + 10% Copper
- API: 40% Lead + 50% Steel + 10% Copper + 1 MgX charge per bullet
(S)hotgun projectiles:
- Buck, Slug: 100% Lead
- P-Buck, F-Slug: 90% Lead + 10% Copper
- I-Slug: 100% Lead + 2 MgX charges per slug
- Flech: 100% Steel
- Coin shot: No need for raw materials; use nickel coins directly instead
- R-Buck, R-Slug, FRAG-12: Cannot be manufactured from raw materials
For example, a batch of 50x .355, 115 grain, FMJ projectiles have a total mass of 373 grams. 90% of this mass is lead (~336 grams) and 10% of this mass is copper (~37 grams). Therefore, if you want such a batch to be manufactured for you, you must bring enough copper and lead bars to cover the requirements of one batch. In this case, the smallest amount you can bring is one 250g lead bar, one 100g lead bar, and one 100g copper bar. All three bars will be consumed in exchange for your batch of bullets, even though you brought more than the amount required.
Pistol and rifle projectiles
All pistol and rifle projectile batches are 50 bullets each.
