20 gauge is a type of ammunition for firearms. It is classified as a (S)hotgun caliber.
20 gauge is a middle step in size between the diminutive .410 bore shells and the larger 12 gauge shells. They offer a good compromise of recoil and power, but at the cost of not being able to fit as many projectiles in the shell. Some projectile types are not available in 20 gauge (namely, FRAG-12 and coin shot) as they simply would not fit. All 20 gauge shells in the Mazes are 2 ¾ inch (70mm) long.
This caliber may also be called 20 ga. or 20G.
Damage tables
Buckshot
The table below assumes Plated buckshot (P-Buck). Pain and Limb Damage listed are per projectile; multiply by the amount of projectiles that hit.
Damage type | Projectiles | LDV | Pain (C1) | Pain (C2) | Pain (A1) | Pain (A2) | Pain (A3) | Pain (A4) | Pain (A5) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Bullet | 8 | +0 | 16% | 14% | 13% | 10% | 8% | 4% | 1% |
- Dragon's buckshot (D-Buck) uses 5 pellets per shell instead of 8 due to the incendiary charge. See Ammunition types for damage.
Slug
The table below assumes Full metal jacketed slug (F-Slug).
Damage type | LDV | Pain (C1) | Pain (C2) | Pain (A1) | Pain (A2) | Pain (A3) | Pain (A4) | Pain (A5) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Bullet | +5 | 104% | 93% | 83% | 67% | 52% | 26% | 8% |

Flechette
Shooting this ammunition type applies a FT -1 effect.
Bullet | 15 | +1 | 12% | 11% | 15% | 12% | 9% | 5% | 2% |
- Flechette ammunition is more efficient against armored ACs than against unarmored ACs. To reflect this, damage against armored ACs is bolded.
