  • Accept payment in cash or appraised valuables
  • Provide store credit (valid only at the specific location you obtained credit from - each store is independent)
    • Shops do not normally return change; it is automatically converted into store credit instead.
  • Transfer store credit into a customer's bank account (for a fee, see Bank).
  • Provide a delivery service into a customer's bank vault (for a fee and if the vault has enough space remaining, see Bank)

Underground workshops

Some workshops in the Mazes are ephemeral and operate out of the UA. They aren't always run by legitimate engineers, but sell all of the same services they normally do, with two changes:

  • Underground workshops accept cash only; no credit, no bank transfers.
  • Underground workshops sell access to a maintenance shaft for Parallar symbol.png200. Buying this lets you access a Shortcut -8 that is guaranteed to lead to an empty room, if not your destination.

Calfair Sector workshop

The engineering workshop in Calfair Sector is also notable for having a Proving Grounds engineer as extra personnel. This engineer is a special liaison with the PG, whose role is to collect the lost or leaked Specs Docs that can occasionally be found in the Mazes. The engineer incentivizes visitors to bring them the documents by offering to build working prototypes of the technology described.

The engineer is only available during opening hours on the day shift.
