Mamono (魔物) is a Youkai-go term which means "evil spirit". It is a category of creatures that have appeared in the Mazes alongside youkai, which possess a range of magical abilities and traits. Whereas youkai are sapient, civilized creatures that have integrated into society and communities, mamono are feral monsters residing in the Uncivilized Area, being one more category of dangerous creatures that can be found there.
Kenmun is a Youkai-go term that can be transliterated to "water spirit". They physically resemble kappa, though with much more hair covering their chests, arms and legs. Much like amanojaku, kenmun cannot speak any kind of recognizable language, and are largely feral creatures. Kenmun are more social than amanojaku, forming larger groups and tribes of up to 50 individuals in the UA. They prefer to live in dark and wet environments, such as abandoned sewer sections. Most importantly, they seem to have the ability to distinguish themselves from kappa, suggesting that they may very well be self-aware. Much like amanojaku, kenmun are only genetically compatible with other kenmun, despite their close resemblance to kappa.
As creatures that share physical resemblances with kappa, they can wear the same outfits. They are also fond of scavenging and using gear, though unlike their civilized counterparts, they do not seem to have the same knack for building, crafting and repairing things. They can, however, use weapons of all kinds, and many kenmun are found armed. It seems they have a preference for light, compact firearms, from handguns to short combat rifles, though they will generally carry whatever they can find. Surprisingly, they do not seem to maintain their weapons at all; they will frequently throw their malfunctioning weapons away, in the hopes of scavenging a new one later rather than trying to repair what they already have.
Be very careful if you meet a kenmun, as their weapons and feral tendencies make them unpredictable and dangerous. If you can't avoid fighting them, be as careful as you normally would against armed opponents, as most of them will carry multiple spare magazines for their weapons.
