| "One of the first purpose-built fully-automatic shotguns, the CAWS makes extensive use of polymers to keep it as lightweight as possible, and it is fed from a 10-round box magazine inserted behind the pistol grip, making it a bullpup design. Do note however that the CAWS does not accept traditional 12 gauge shells; it was made to fire the proprietary, all-brass, powerful 12 gauge CAWS shells. But once you've tried one out and found out what magdumping 10 CAWS flechette shells does to someone, you will probably never want to go back to a traditional 12 gauge."|

The Heckler & Koch CAWS (also called H&K CAWS or simply CAWS) is a 12 gauge CAWS shotgun.
This weapon can receive the following minor customization services:
- Tactical conversion: CAWS Modernized
The CAWS Modernized is an effort to, as the name implies, enhance and modernize the CAWS by giving it the ability to mount modern accessories. The weapon is fitted with a variety of rails: an optics rail mounted on the carrying handle, two long side rails, and a long underbarrel rail. In addition, the barrel is threaded, to allow for the mounting of muzzle devices, further increasing the capabilities of an already powerful weapon.
- Muzzle: Becomes Standard devices.
- Optics: Becomes NATO Short mount.
- Underbarrel mount: Becomes Long interface.
- Lights: Becomes 2x Long interface.
