A Town Security Chief (also called TownSec Chief) is the person in charge of a town's local Town Security, commanding the local Guards and answering directly to the local Mayor.
When working in an Intersection instead of a town, they are referred to as Intersection Security or InterSec instead; but they effectively have the same duties, the only difference being the name.

Technically speaking, any of the three major civilized species can become Security Chiefs; however, each community has different rules on which species are allowed to join their respective Town/Intersection Security. Please refer to the individual location pages for more information.

The Security Chief is the commander of a community's Town Security (TownSec) or Intersection Security (InterSec).

A community's Security Chief is appointed by the local Mayor, usually the most senior or most experienced Guard available, effectively making them their local community's second most important person.

TownSec Chiefs are in charge of assigning orders, posts, and duties to their subordinate Guards, supervising the security of the entire town or intersection, and answer only to the local Mayor. They also manage the town's local jail, placing them in charge of managing and processing the local prisoners. In towns under Standard Law, the jail duty is more limited, reduced to simply keeping watch of prisoners before they are transferred to the Police's custody.
