Supply crates are special boxes, which often contain several items of value. They are implied to be lost or abandoned courier delivery packages, the objects contained within now free to be looted by the first person to find them.
They must not be confused with Containers, which are also randomly-found boxes full of items, but the contents of which may be protected by locks and trap systems.
Supply crates have the particular distinction of having no Weight rating; they cannot be added to the inventory while unopened. Instead they must first be opened to reveal the items inside. That is because several types of supply crates contain random items, meant to be generated on the spot.
All crates have a designation and a list of contents. The contents of some crates may be random or dependent on character gear, but most have fixed contents.
Supply crates fulfill the role of random "treasure chests", as they often contain useful and valuable objects, and unlike Containers, are always completely safe and require no special tools or preparation to open. This page will list all of the supply crate designations and corresponding lists of items to expect in each.
All items found inside supply crates are brand new. Weapons and magazines are all found unloaded.

Notes:
- BUGOUT: Gear inspired by bug-out bag equipment.
- MARC: Mixed Ammunition Resupply Crate
- "Ammo type retail random": Ammunition found within these crates are a random type available, dependent on available brands per caliber. If no retail brands exist (e.g. .460 Rowland...), such ammunition will have fully random powder quality, pressure level, and projectile type instead.
