| "The L85A2 is the successor to the infamously unreliable and much-maligned L85A1. It took the introduction of CNC machinery and the redesigning of many critical parts (bolt, extractor, hammer, charging handle) to finally make the L85 a reliable and dependable weapon. Though a little heavier than other, similar bullpup rifles, the L85A2 now stands proud, rather than the bottom-of-the-barrel choice. Like most of its peers, this rifle fires 5.56x45mm NATO, accepts STANAG magazines, possesses a short optics rail (which is normally fitted with a removable carrying handle), and it can be mounted with a grenade launcher and a bayonet if needed." |
