9x18mm Makarov is a type of ammunition for firearms. It is classified as a (P)istol caliber.
9x18mm is pronounced nine by eighteen millimeters. Makarov is pronounced MA-Kah-Rof.
This caliber may also be known as 9x18mm PM (after the Makarov PM), 9mm Makarov, 9x18mm, or colloquially 9 Mak. To better differentiate it from the similarly named 9x19mm, it is sometimes given a 9.2mm designation, such as 9.2mm Makarov or 9.2x18mm, however this has fallen into disuse.
