I will transpose everything from this onto this page. I will probably also change and modify certain mods and offerings as well.

Maze Customs major mods are all of the modifications offered to what are known as Customs weapon families or simply Customs families. A family regroups certain weapons with the same or compatible operating principles; for example, all members of the AK family are based in some form on the Kalashnikov rifle.

There are 11 Customs families in total. Each one, alongside all of the available modifications, will be described in their own section below. In addition to the modifications unique to each family, there also exist Universal modifications, which can be applied to most firearms, regardless of whether they belong to a Customs family or not.

1911 Single Stack (1911SS)

1911SS.png

A semi-automatic pistol platform based on the classic 1911 design. The most famous example is the Colt M1911A1, chambered in .45 ACP.

1911SS pistols are recognizable by their slim frame, distinctive style and design, and their use of single-stack magazines.

Any full-size firearm based on the 1911 design and using single-stack magazines is considered to be part of the 1911SS family, even if minute details (hammer, beavertail, rounded or square butt, style and type of iron sights...) may differ.

Customs nomenclature

If you submit a compatible weapon to Maze Customs for a Major mod, and apply at least one modification, that weapon will be renamed to Custom <family>, with "<family>" being replaced by your weapon's corresponding family, even if the resulting combination of modifications would effectively replicate another base model of the same family.

  • Example: Peter purchases a rechambering modification for his Colt M1911A1, rechambering it to .40 S&W. This automatically renames his weapon to Custom 1911SS.

You may, of course, choose to rename your weapon to whatever name or nickname you wish. However, in order to clearly signal that this is a user-given name and not any official or semi-official nomenclature, any name given to a weapon by their user should be between quotation marks.

  • Example: Peter wants to give his .40 S&W 1911SS pistol a more palatable name. He decides to call it Old Reliable, as this pistol has been with him for a long time. The weapon is therefore renamed to "Old Reliable", with quotation marks.

Notes

  • Note 1: Barrel porting is the act of drilling strategically placed holes into the barrel and slide, allowing part of the gases to be vented through these holes, acting as a sort of integrated muzzle brake. However, the expulsion of these gases is also what generates the noise a firearm makes. If there are any openings through which gases (and therefore noise) can escape before reaching the muzzle, it will be loud regardless of what is at the end of the barrel. This is the same principle that prevents revolvers from being suppressed normally (due to the gap between the cylinder and the frame). For all of those reasons, a ported barrel negates the effects of a silencer; in other words, it is possible but pointless to attach a silencer to a ported barrel.
