The Mateba MTR-8 (also simply called MTR-8) is a .38 Special revolver.
Other information
- Although it is a revolver, the MTR-8's cylinder cannot accept loose ammunition directly; it must be loaded with a specially shaped, proprietary clip into which the ammunition sits, without which the MTR-8 cannot be fired. In that regard, the MTR-8 functions in a similar manner to revolvers requiring moon clips.
- Although it is a DA/SA revolver, the MTR-8 cannot be used to perform the Fanning technique, because it does not feature a traditional hammer.
