"Although the original MP5 in 9x19mm was, and remains the gold standard for submachine guns, certain people have a need for a higher, more powerful caliber. For a time, the lack of alternatives led to people creating their own, makeshift conversion jobs, of questionable quality. The need for a high-quality firearm could be felt, so two new variants of the MP5 were developed; the MP5/10 and the MP5/40, respectively chambered in 10mm Auto and .40 S&W. Both platforms use the same magazine; the only difference is the chambering of the barrel. This model is the MP5/10, chambered for 10mm Auto."
