"The Type 89F is simply the folding-stock version of the original Buddy. Interestingly, Type 89Fs ship with 20-round magazines instead of 30-round. Although the explicit reason as to why is not known, some have theorized it helps make the weapon more compact with the stock folded, either to keep it lightweight, or for making storage more convenient.
