A Police Sergeant (uncapitalized form is also acceptable, also known as a cop, or simply a sergeant) is a member of the Maze Police.

A Police Sergeant is a member of the Maze Police, and the commanding officer of a police squad, in charge of 8 subordinate officers. They may also request the formation of a tactical team of 5 SRT officers to their superiors, should the situation require it.
Within the Police hierarchy, sergeants rank above regular police officers and SRT officers and under that of Detective.
Duties of a Sergeant are largely the same as those of a regular officer; they simply take on the role of a field supervisor capable of giving orders, with the responsibility of managing their squad, setting routines, and patrol routes. Sergeants (and all ranks above) also have the right to call in a tactical team, if they believe the current situation is high-risk. One sergeant is assigned to prison guard duty, leading the squad of officers assigned to the prison.
