"The Vintorez is a sniper version of the AS Val, and perhaps the more famous of the AS Val derivatives, even though there are really only two mechanical differences between the two rifles; the VSS is fitted with a fixed wooden stock instead of a folding stock, and has a lower rate of fire; making it one of the rare few precision rifles to be capable of fully-automatic fire. Other than that, they are extremely similar, featuring the same integrated silencer system and the same chambering, right down to using the same magazines."
