A janitor is a worker whose purpose is to clean and disinfect the floors, walls, corridors, and furniture of dirt, grime, blood, and other contaminants in a room.
Male janitors are usually known as cleaners and female janitors as maids.
More than just cleaning staff, janitors are also specialized in the removal of blood, guts, bones, body parts, and other dead remains; making them the personnel called upon after fights have ended and dust has settled. Janitors are famous for carrying their traditional broom on the back, as well as pushing their cleaning cart around; a metallic cart which carries all of their necessities: spare broom, mop, feather dusters, buckets, various types of disinfectant sprays, trash bags, biohazard waste bags, body bags, and various other things.
In the Mazes, janitors are generally highly respected and their job is considered to be of great importance. Without janitors, all of the bodies and body parts left strewn about after a fight would be left to rot and emit horrendous odors, rendering the room difficult to traverse at best, and unlivable at worst.
Janitors usually operate in towns and intersections, where the need to keep rooms clean and livable is the highest; however, they are also frequently dispatched into the UA, particularly to clean rooms on frequently-traveled roads.
Janitors are either headquartered in a particular town's cleaning facility or hotel. In both cases, the facility they work at is managed by their direct superior, the head janitor.
