"The Type 97 is the precision rifle version of the original Type 38 Arisaka rifle. It is nothing more than the same rifle, but fitted with a 2.5x optic. The rifle is also famous for its wire monopod, however it simply doesn't work as well as a dedicated bipod, and can be dismissed as the strange, experimental feature it is. Of note is that just like the Type 38, the Type 97 can be fitted with the Type 30 sword-bayonet, effectively transforming the sniper rifle into a naginata with a scope." |
