"One member of a strange and storied family of shotguns with a cylinder design (alongside the Striker and the Streetsweeper), the Protecta is the simplest of them, featuring a manual-action system rather than a pseudo-semi-automatic system. After firing a shot, the user needs to rotate the entire barrel assembly by a few degrees to the right, then back, in order to align the next chamber. It's not quite like a traditional pump-action shotgun, but with a bit of training, a Protecta shooter can be just as effective. It's heavy, strange, and cumbersome, but it's hard to argue against 12 shots of 12 gauge."
