Valaso describes himself as a very family-oriented man, though he genuinely considers considering the Syndicate to be his extended family. He is known for his friendly and approachable demeanor, as well as his attitude to life, best described as "cautious but optimistic". Risk-averse, he prefers safe and reliable approaches to business, believing that big shows of violence and displays of power should be last resorts, not standard procedure.
Although Valaso often states he dreams of finding the perfect wife and making many children, he was notorious for going through two to three different girlfriends per month. This continued until he became consigliere, at which point and under Michael's advice, he was asked to "stop fooling around". To this day, at the age of 39, he remains single - and particularly despises being reminded of it.
