* Special attack that can be charged before firing. To add one level of charge, the creature must spend a full turn charging the attack.
** An uncharged energyblast (0 turns of charging time) deals the same amount of damage as the regular energyblast.
** For every level of charge added, the attack gains +1 LDV and +30% Pain.
** The maximum charge level is 5, which results in an attack dealing LDV +7 and 190% Pain (all ACs).
** At certain charge levels, the creature will gain a temporary accuracy bonus upon firing.
*** Charge levels 2 and 3: FT -1 bonus
*** Charge levels 4 and 5: FT -2 bonus

Overview
Lore

More often discussed than encountered, and typically described using superlatives, the everdragon is a creature of legend, inspiring awe and fear to the inhabitants of the Mazes. It is considered to be one of, if not the most dangerous creature classified under threat level 5, and is often described as a "super dragon" and any combination of words that would be synonymous with apocalypse or calamity.

Everdragons, or black dragons as they're sometimes called, are, as far as biologists know, ancient dragons that have mutated into a black coloration, lost their elemental powers, and grown larger and even tougher. Although sightings of these creatures are rare, as very few survive encountering one, their average height is known to be roughly 7 feet when standing on their legs, with a length of 9 feet and an average weight of 3800 pounds (or about 1.72 metric tons). Everdragon scales are so thick and hard, they are comparable in toughness to hardened steel.

Although all everdragons are dragons that are "elders" (more than 100 years of age), it does not appear that every dragon that grows past a certain age turns into an everdragon. It is currently unknown how dragons mutate into everdragons.

Every trait that defined regular dragons applies to the everdragons as well; carnivorous, incredibly violent and relentless. However, it seems that these creatures have a preference for the Uncivilized Area, rarely ever venturing outside of their defined territory. As such, incidents involving everdragons attacking civilization are extremely rare, with less than one case every fifty years.

Their signature attacks, the energyblast and charged energyblast, are the replacement for their lost elemental breath attacks. The energyblast consist of nothing more than a beam of pure energy, materializing as a bright ray of light being fired out of the creature's mouth. The charged version is the same thing, but larger, brighter and more powerful.

Although it is technically possible to hunt and butcher an everdragon for its meat, don't intentionally seek these creatures, as they live in the depths of the Uncivilized Area where other, dangerous creatures also reside. You are likely to be injured or killed before ever seeing one, and if you do meet one, it is more than capable of vaporizing you. Do not put yourself in unnecessary danger and avoid them entirely. Only extremely well-prepared and well-equipped adventurers should ever attempt to engage an everdragon in combat.
