"Before the PPK, there was the PP, a pistol of slightly larger dimensions, utilizing a longer frame and barrel. The PPK/S is essentially a PPK slide and barrel married to a PP frame, resulting in a (very slightly) heavier pistol, but of virtually identical overall length compared to the PPK. Most importantly, the PPK/S is chambered in .380 ACP, and its magazines possess an extended baseplate, allowing shooters to rest their pinky finger and get a full grip, but also allowing the pistol to have the same 7+1 capacity as its .32 cousin.
