The Smith & Wesson AS-2 (also called S&W AS-2, AS-2, or simply AS) is a 12 gauge CAWS shotgun.

AS-2 Modernized

The AS-2 Modernized is a package intended to, as the name implies, enhance and modernize the AS-2 by giving it the ability to mount modern accessories. The carrying handle is fitted with an optics rail, the handguard receives two long side rails and one short underbarrel rail, and the barrel is threaded.

• Optics: Becomes NATO Short mount.
• Underbarrel mount: Becomes Short interface.
• Lights: Becomes 2x Long interface.

AS-1

The AS-1 is the prototype configuration of the AS-2, lacking its secondary fire mode. In other words, the AS-1 is a standard, semi-automatic only shotgun. If you have no use for the burst mode and don't want full-auto, this is an option.

AS-3

The AS-3 is the fully-automatic configuration of the AS-2. In this configuration, the semi-automatic mode is deleted entirely; your options are 3-round burst or full-auto! In full-auto mode, the AS-3's rate of fire is approximately 375 rounds per minute, making it comparable to the H&K CAWS and other automatic shotguns.

AS-1 Modernized

An AS-1 with the Modernized package. It's a very fancy semi-auto shotgun, now.
