"The Semmerling LM4 is one of the most unique and interesting compact pistols ever created. It was designed to fulfill one requirement: to be the smallest practical repeating .45 ACP handgun. With an overall length of just 3.7 inches, about 1 inch of width, and a total weight of just under 20 ounces fully loaded, the Semmerling is a peerless weapon, unique in its category. No other .45 ACP handgun comes close to being this small, let alone most handguns. The entire pistol comprises 33 parts (screws included) and aside from the springs, is entirely constructed of ultra-durable S7 tool steel. But the most interesting element of this pistol isn't its materials or its dimensions: it is the unique manual-action system, requiring the shooter to pull the slide forward and then back by hand to cycle the next cartridge. In short, there is nothing quite like this pistol, and it is sure to please the discerning enthusiast."

Trivia

  • The Semmerling LM4 is a unique manual-action pistol with a forward-operating barrel and slide assembly. After each shot, the operator must pull the slide forward to eject the spent case, and pull it back manually to chamber the next round. Because of this unique method of operation, it is considered a bolt-action firearm and subsequently calls for the bolt-action skill.
