Ores are rocks or sediments which contain useful quantities of minerals. Ores are extracted through mining and are refined through various processes in order to obtain valuable metals or gemstones. Player characters can find ores at random in the UA, but the easiest way to acquire ores is to mine them.

Ore items are called ore bundles, which may be one of many different types (each type having a different composition) and be of varying mass (expressed in grams), which in turn determines the item's Weight (in Weight units).

On their own, ores don't have any uses to the player; they cannot be used for anything directly, nor are they part of any crafting recipes. Their only real purpose is to be exchanged at a mining facility's ore bank. Depending on the composition and amount delivered, a player character may exchange ore for metal ingots, gemstones, or directly to cash.

Ores are sub-categorized into three groups: Metal ores, Gemstone ores, and Serpentium.

Unusually for items in the Mazes, all ore bundles have a listed mass in grams, and a corresponding Weight (in inventory Weight units). For every 5 grams of mass, an ore bundle gains 0.01 Weight units; therefore, 500 grams of ore has a Weight of 1, and 1000 grams of ore has a Weight of 2.

Metal ores

Metal ores contain, as the name suggests, valuable metals.

The exact value of a metal ore bundle depends on its mass and its composition. For example, hematite is listed as an iron ore (70%), meaning that 70% of that ore bundle's mass is made out of iron. A 800 gram bundle of hematite would therefore be made out of (0.70 x 800) = 560 grams of iron ore. It could be exchanged for the monetary value of 560 grams of iron, or for a 500 gram iron bar plus the monetary value of 60 grams of iron, which is Parallar symbol.png12.

Valuable elements

This table lists all of the valuable elements that can be found within the ores in the Mazes, alongside their value per kilogram, and whether or not they belong to the Primary or Secondary category.

Primary elements can be exchanged for either metal ingots or money, whereas secondary elements can only be exchanged for money.

  • Ore of: Element type that this ore is mined for. (E.g.: Hematite is iron ore.)
  • %: Percentage value; what mass percentage of the listed element ("ore of") is found within one given ore bundle of that type. This in turn determines an ore bundle's value.
    • E.g.: Hematite is made out of 70% iron, therefore 70% of the mass of any hematite ore bundle is iron.
  • Rarity: Rarity indicator; cheap, common, rare, or very rare.
  • Parallar symbol.png per kg: Value of one kilogram (1000 grams) of this ore when exchanged for money at an ore bank.

Gemstone ores

Gemstone ores contain raw, natural crystals which are suitable for refining, cutting and polishing into gemstones.

Like metal ores, gemstone ore is found in ore bundles. However, their mass does not directly translate to value; instead, for every 50 grams of gemstone ore bundle, one corresponding gemstone may be extracted. Gemstone ore bundles are always generated in multiples of 50 grams, as such it is possible to easily determine the amount of gemstones carried within one bundle: simply divide its mass in grams by 50.

When exchanging gemstone ore for gemstones at an ore bank, you will obtain identified but unappraised gemstones.

  • Industrial-grade raw diamond produces impure diamonds, whereas jewelry-grade raw diamond produces regular diamonds.


Serpentium is a type of crystalline mineral native to the Mazes, with the unique property of being a source of energy. Serpentium may also be called power crystals, electrocrystals or, in Youkai-go, 電気晶 (denkishou), which transliterates to "electric crystal".

Serpentium crystals are hexagonal crystals resembling beryls. They are known for their semi-transparent black color, with golden-colored facets sprawling from the center of each crystal, often found in rough, serpentine, or thunderbolt-like shapes (which have presumably inspired the "Serpentium" name). These golden elements are naturally electroluminescent, causing them to emit a faint amount of yellow light, making them easy to spot and recognize.

Individual Serpentium crystals form in various sizes and shapes, each of which carries a certain quantity of energy. When the outer layers of a crystal are broken, all of the energy contained within is released in the form of electricity, in a manner reminiscent of a thunderstorm releasing thunderbolts. Once the power contained is completely released, the crystal "shell" vaporizes instantly, leaving nothing behind except heat. The exact amount of power generated depends on the individual size and mass of a crystal.

Every generator facility in the Mazes runs on Serpentium crystals, which are designed to puncture the crystals and subsequently harness the energy released in a safe and controlled manner.

Miners and adventurers in possession of Serpentium crystals may sell them to generator facilities at face value. Serpentium has a value per kilogram of Parallar symbol.png1225 /kg.
