Attacks and techniques
This creature has three attacks: Acid bite, Oozepunch and Acid spit.
|Damage type||Range||MAPT||IS||LDV||Pain (All ACs)|
|Damage type||Range||MAPT||IS||LDV||Pain (C1)||Pain (C2)||Pain (A1)||Pain (A2)||Pain (A3)||Pain (A4)||Pain (A5)|
- On a successful hit, inflicts the Acid degradation effect despite not being a Spec-Acid attack.
- If the creature's HP is less than 25, the range of this attack changes to Melee.
|Damage type||Range||MAPT||IS||LDV||Pain (All ACs)|
- Using this technique burns 1 HP per attack.
- Fire immunity: This creature cannot receive the On fire effect.
- Effect on death: Upon being defeated, this creature will do the following:
- Is a blob: Constructs have no Armor Class, cannot feel pain (no Pain Sensitivity), and have no Blood. Blobs do not usually leave corpses that can be butchered, and in fact do not use the regular limb health system at all. Instead, they possess an HP counter which can be damaged using limb damage. Blobs are considered to be neither Armored or Unarmored, and all limb damage they receive is automatically reduced to 1 (if it was more than 1) per hit, with the exception of Explosion-type damage.
- HP: 65

Certain creatures in the Mazes are the result of past scientific experiments that have, for one reason or another, either gone wrong or been released into the Uncivilized Area, where they proceeded to "go native" and become one of the many species of creatures inhabiting the UA.
Oozemen are freakish creatures, half-human and half-blob. Of their former human bodies only the head (composed of the skull, the brain, eyes, and teeth) and the bones in their hands remain.
The layer of ooze that covers the remaining human body parts is in fact blob matter, same as in green and yellow blobs. It acts as both that creature's skin and body, and has a bright, toxic green coloration. It is not fully understood how, but the blob half seems to possess a nervous connection with the human brain, and it can heal and regenerate any damage that the head and hands sustain, even to the brain. It is believed that the blob core is the creature's true central nervous system and that the brain fulfills little actual purpose.
Scarily, oozemen appear to understand spoken language. Although they cannot speak or make any kind of vocalized noises (they lack vocal cords), they frequently and very expressively emote laughing, smiling and sneering expressions. With the gooey layer of blob that covers them dripping over their faces, it gives them a grotesque and evil appearance, and it seems that these creatures are fully aware of their freakish, horror movie-like appearance, as they enjoy terrifying sapients.
However, scaring travelers and adventurers is far from their primary source of enjoyment. These creatures are hostile and dangerous, possessing a small selection of techniques with which they can attack and absorb creatures. Their acid bite is an improved version of the green blob's, using the human head's actual teeth to deliver the bite, which causes significantly more damage. They can also perform a special kind of acid spit, where they will fling a glob of their own body through their mouth, aiming at targets to cover them in acid, effectively "sliming" them. This technique is rarely used however, as it involves losing small bits of themselves, but is an effective surprise maneuver. By far their most iconic ability is the Oozepunch, which uses their bony fists as striking weapons. The oozeman will rapidly extend their body in order to give their fists a surface to "surf" on and reach targets with. The oozepunch's range seems to depend on the size of the oozeman's body; if it is too small from damage, it will only function as a close-combat ability.
Biologists believe that oozemen were once fully human. DNA evidence suggests that a cure for their oozeman status is theoretically possible, however it seems unlikely that anyone can find the time or the incentive to develop such a cure. These scary creatures exhibit clearly sadistic behavior during combat, as evidenced by emoting laughter whenever they attack, and especially when their attacks land. They are therefore believed to be at the edge of sapience, which suggests that whatever humanity they have left is under the influence of their new ooze-like form.
If you encounter an oozeman, exercise extreme caution. Despite the fact that most oozemen are green, they will release a cloud of toxic, chlorine gas when destroyed, just like a yellow blob. As with all blob creatures, they are completely impervious to fire, but are most easily defeated using explosives. If none are available to you, high-capacity, low-recoiling firearms are highly recommended, as you will need to score a lot of hits to "chip" and take apart the oozeman until it is destroyed.
