  • Combat skills: Basic (all combat skills)
  • Non-combat skills: Unskilled (all non-combat skills)

    • Flying creatures cannot take cover.
    • Flying creatures suffer from certain maluses: Recoil +1 and FT+1.

Demonic creatures are employees of Hell, Inc., the Demonic faction.

A cubus is a non-evolving, mostly humanoid demonic creature specialized in the domains of seduction, lust, and sexual services. There exist both male and female variants, respectively known as incubi and succubi. Incubi are 6 feet tall and 160 pounds on average, while succubi are 5 feet 8 inches and 140 pounds on average. All cubi lack horns, possess an arrow-shaped tail, a pair of bat-like wings, and lean, fit humanoid bodies entirely designed for attractiveness and sex appeal, with minimal clothing designed for easy removal and showcasing their bodies. Like most demonic creatures, their skin tone is some shade of dark red, ranging between blood-red and crimson.

Incubi generally wear nothing more than black trunks, while succubi wear a two-piece set of black underwear of varying styles and type. On certain occasions, cubi may be seen wearing black, hooded cloaks on top of their usual attire, so they can blend into more formal contexts.

Although their bodies have about the same protective capabilities as that of an imp, prioritizing attractiveness over toughness, cubi make up for their lower defenses with a wider array of notable traits. Their wings are functional and allow them to fly and hover in place, they possess two types of demonic powers (the classic fireball, and a self-healing technique), and they have combat skills and capabilities equivalent to a fiend; the ability to use any weapon with an acceptable level of proficiency, as well as their claws and teeth. Despite these useful traits, cubi are generally cautious and risk-averse, preferring to avoid fighting entirely.

As mentioned above, the primary purpose of cubi is to provide sexual services. They possess the unique ability to gain Demonic Energy from sexual encounters (see demonic powers for more information), and spend most of their days roaming the Mazes in search of partners to offer their services to. Individual cubi employ myriads of different approaches to this end; some prefer to roam the UA and meet with traveling strangers, others strategically hang out at certain towns, intersections, or other points of interest. Some prefer to have one-night stands and doing their deeds with strangers before disappearing, so there is no time for feelings to develop; others enjoy having regular customers to meet with and reliably have fun (and extract Demonic Energy) from.

All, however, are known for three very important common elements: they are almost always hungry for more, they have extremely high endurance, and they do not ask for money for their services. All of these factors give cubi the image of being free and easy lays - even if in reality, there is no such thing as a free meal; the process of gaining Demonic Energy from sexual activity has the unfortunate side effect of being very draining and fatiguing, and their insatiable nature often leads to customers being coerced into marathon sessions, exhausting them beyond their physical limits. Fatalities are not unheard of; this phenomenon is euphemized with the expression "going out with a bang".

This reputation is why the Mazes' red-light industry (escorts, pimps, porn actors, etc.) considers cubi to be hostile competition and a threat to their business, actively discouraging their customers from approaching them and forming various anti-cubus awareness campaigns, and generally viewing cubi as unfair competition with the sole purpose of denying them revenue and killing their customers.

Within the demonic hierarchy, they are classified as Echelon 6 or General staff, above imps, of equal rank to fiends, and under cacobarons and vampires. Because they are non-evolving creatures, all cubi forever remain at this echelon of the hierarchy; however, Hell is known to encourage competition and reward particularly successful individuals, suggesting that there is some sort of informal sub-hierarchy among cubi.
