In real life, 7x57mm Mauser is one of the first smokeless powder rifle cartridges ever produced. It predates its larger cousin, 7.92x57mm Mauser, by about 13 years.

This cartridge may also be referred to as 7x57mm, 7mm Mauser, or simply 7mm. An additional real-life designation is .275 Rigby, however this one is not used in the Mazes.
