6x45mm is a type of ammunition for firearms. It is classified as a (R)ifle caliber. 6x45mm was designed to give the AR-15 platform a suitable 6mm (.243 caliber) alternative to 5.56x45mm with minimal changes. It is fully compatible with all STANAG magazines.
6x45mm is pronounced six by forty-five millimeters.
This caliber may also be known as 6mm-223 or simply 6mm.
