Televisions (or TVs) are devices which can be used to watch TV channels, which broadcast various programs such as movies, shows, or news reports. Televisions are room furniture; they are not items that can be added to the inventory. They are a type of powered furniture; they require power from a wall socket to function, and will not function if there is no power in the room.

Effects

The primary purpose of a TV is to relieve Stress. When watching TV, roll (1d41+119)*0.1; the result, ranging between 12.0 and 16.0, is the amount of Stress the character heals. Watching TV will also cause time to advance by one period.

Watching TV should only be done outside of combat and in a relatively safe environment; the GM may declare it's not the time if they feel the situation is not appropriate.

Notes:

  • If your character has the Killjoy trait, divide the result of the roll by 2 (or use (1d41+119)*0.05), resulting in a maximum range of -6.0% to -8.0% Stress healed.
  • If your character has the Vivid imagination trait, multiply the result of the roll by 2 (or use (1d41+119)*0.2), resulting in a maximum range of -24.0% to -32.0% Stress healed.

Watching

You can use the &whatsonTV command to get a random program. All of the programs suggested are fictional, possessing names parodying or referencing real-world equivalents.
