A Regular Forces Sergeant is a member of the [[Maze Military]]. As the name of the occupation indicates, they are part of the [[Regular Forces]] branch of the Military and hold the rank of Sergeant.
The rank of Sergeant is the first of the ''military officer'' ranks, which indicates a position of leadership and responsibility. Within the Military hierarchy, sergeants are above [[Private (RF)|privates]] and under [[Lieutenant (RF)|lieutenants]]. A sergeant is in charge of a military squad, composed of themselves and 10 privates.
The duties of a sergeant are largely the same as those of a private. Sergeants must also order and direct their squad, making sure that the tasks assigned to them are done correctly and in an efficient manner.
To be promoted to Sergeant, a Private must be recommended by their current Sergeant, the recommendation must be approved by that Sergeant's Lieutenant, and there must be an opening within the company. As such, newly-minted Sergeants rarely get to lead the squad they first joined in.
