Mercenary Agency In the Mazes

21 bytes added, 07:34, 25 December 2023
MAIM is known for its wide selection of available personnel, from all sorts of backgrounds and with all kinds of skills. They are also credited for formalizing the unwritten mercenary's ethics, which stipulates that mercs should be loyal to the money first, and to their employers second, regardless of the cause or employer they are working for. Officially, MAIM does not take positions and actively refuses all affiliations or coalitions with other groups and interests. The formal rules of the Agency dictate that all members must pass basic marksmanship tests with semi-automatic handguns, as well as know the basics of firearms maintenance and first aid. Additionally, members are expected to prominently display their ID badges, which generally include their name, callsign, and ID number. These badges allow one to readily distinguish MAIM mercenaries from other soldiers of fortune at a glance.
During its first few years of operation, the Agency worked underground, not having an official headquarters for fear of reprisal from other mercenaries or potential competitors. When no such threats emerged, the Agency's directors established a headquarters in Ferron City, working out of an individual shop that would normally be a jewelry store. They also own the town's dojo and shooting range, using them as training facilities for MAIM's members.  The organization maintains a strong presence in the town, often supplementing the local TownSec with their own numbers to make sure competitors don't attack the HQ. Currently, the agency fluctuates between 70 and 90 members, not counting various support personnel. For a fee, anyone can hire one of the their many mercenaries available, . Full details are available on MAIM's MazeNet websiteor in person at the Ferron City front office.
