"A few concept weapons based on the G11 were designed to try and transform the ambitious caseless rifle into a family of firearms. One of these concepts was a light machine gun design, which eventually became the LMG11. Though very much a prototype in every way, and not much more durable than its rifle counterpart, the LMG11 feeds from an innovative, rectangular feeding device known as an 'ammunition cassette', with a whopping capacity of 300 rounds, putting to shame most other machine guns by a wide margin. Though this cassette does not benefit from the advantages of linked belts (which can be technically made of any size), the LMG11 can, with a little bit of training, be reloaded nearly as quickly as a bullpup rifle. It is not known why this weapon has remained in the prototype stage, but if you can find one, you will definitely not be disappointed."

Obtaining this weapon

This weapon is referred to as a Specs-docs only weapon. It cannot be normally found in the Mazes, and will only be available after completing the following requirements:

• Turn in the following specifications documents to the Proving Grounds engineer, at the Calfair Sector workshop:
  • #ON504 - Prototype caseless light machine gun blueprints
  • #KM991 - Technical guides for conversion of G11 action into other weapon systems
• Bring a G11K2 or a G11K2 Modernized, which will be used for conversion into this weapon (or the LMG11 Modernized, see below)

Upon completing the requirements listed above, the LMG11 will become available for sale at the Calfair Sector workshop from the Proving Grounds engineer, for 2000, and spare LMG11 ammo cassettes for 400 each. For this reason, this weapon is Rarity 7 (Unique).

Please note that the Proving Grounds engineer is only available during the day shift (between 8 AM and 8 PM).

LMG11 Modernized

The LMG11 Modernized is an effort to, as the name implies, enhance and modernize the LMG11 machine gun by giving it the ability to mount modern accessories. The weapon is fitted with a variety of rails ; an optics rail replacing the integrated reflex sight, two long side rails, and a long underbarrel rail. In addition, the barrel is threaded, to allow for the mounting of muzzle devices. All of these additions help transform the prototype machine gun into a modern, viable support weapon.

Modifications:

• Muzzle: Becomes Standard devices.
• Optics: Becomes NATO Short mount.
• Underbarrel mount: Becomes Long interface.
• Lights: Becomes 2x Long interface.

Note: You can also obtain a LMG11 Modernized directly by converting a G11K2 Modernized.
