Kallwolf

Another notable particularity of kallwolves is that they are very solitary creatures, only rarely seen with other members of their own species; and usually only during mating season. The rest of the time, they are extremely hostile to just about anyone and anything else, including their own. If prey becomes scarce, they have even been known to engage in cannibalistic behavior.
The "kall" particle in the species' name is derived from an Old Tongue word, kal, which means "Ice". Kallwolves existed during the medieval eras, and were referred to as kalawukalauu (pronounced cal-awoo, from kal and awuauu, meaning "wolf"), which can be transliterated to the rather apt name of "ice wolf". The reason behind the doubled Ls is obscure, and thought to have come from an early translation error.
