"The Johnson M1941 was, for a time, the rival to the M1 Garand, with only two things in common: the .30-06 chambering and the semi-automatic action. This rifle is well-known for its short recoil-operation system (as opposed to the Garand's gas-operated one), its 10-round magazine, its compatibility with Springfield M1903 stripper clips, and most importantly, its affectionate nickname: Betsy. While it may not have achieved the Garand's popularity, enthusiasts believe it to be the superior option."

The Johnson Automatics M1941 (also called Johnson M1941, Johnson or just M1941; affectionately, Betsy) is a .30-06 Springfield conventional rifle.
