A humanoid creature with the head of an insect and chitinous armor all over their body.
Insectoids (''Homo ferus ex insectum'') are one of the species of '''feral animal-people'''(scientific designation ''homo ferus''), species that have evolved to grow humanoid traits and sufficient intelligence to use tools and weapons, but have remained largely 'feral'; they inhabit small, hidden communities in the UA, or are nomadic. Usually, they also do not speak any understandable [[Languages|language]], though there are some rare exceptions.
These humanoid creatures have an average height of 5 foot 8 inches, and adults weigh 140 to 145 lbs on average. They possess humanoid arms and legs, with five-fingered hands and toes, however they also possess a pair of wings and wing guards, similar to that of a grasshopper. Most importantly, the head of an insectoid resembles that of a number of insects, varying depending on the individual. Insectoids have been observed with heads resembling that of ants, flies, grasshoppers, dragonflies, bees, and hornets.
