It is not an AK-12 proper, due to differences in the receiver, mainly to accomodate accommodate for the larger caliber. Functionally, however, these are the only notable differences. The SVK-12 looks, controls, and feels the same as an AK-12 (save perhaps for the recoil), and is just as reliable. With 10-round magazines and a good scope, it functions as an excellent DMR. Grab 20-round magazines and a red dot sight, and you get a modern-day battle rifle for the modern-day fighter.
