Founded in E5-163, Heshbar is primarily known for being a mining town. Most of the town's economy revolves around mining and jewelry. The exact origin of the town's name is unknown; it is believed, however, that the word ''hesh'' was an Era 5 slang word for "precious metal," and that a ''hesh bar'' could have been a synonym for "ingot".
The local jewelry store, ''Heshbar Treasures'', is perhaps the most famous in the Mazes, priding itself in their 100% locally-sourced materials for all of their items. It is owned and operated by the old and influential Schwartz family, which has historically resided in the local villa, the ''Topaz Residence''.
