= Primers =
A '''primer'' is a small, cylindrical, button-shaped object that is found at the base of a complete round of ammunition. Primers contain a small charge of shock-sensitive compound. When struck by a firing pin, the primer compound release heat, which ignites the powder and in turn generates the energy necessary to push the bullet (or projectiles) out of the barrel.
