{{Lore}}
An enormous insect, with the appearance of a tsetse fly. The giant tsetse fly is one of several species of giant insects native to the Mazes. It appears to be an enormous hybrid species of various members of the ''[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsetse_fly glossina]'' family of flies. When standing on their legs, they are approximately reaching roughly 3 feet tall and 5 foot 2 inches long, weighing about 25 to 30 lbspounds. In flight, they hover in place and their length appears to be their height, giving them a uniquely terrifying appearance.
Giant tsetse flies are famous for their ''tranq sting'' attack, which they perform by repeatedly stabbing targets with their proboscis; a long, needle-like organ protruding from their heads, through which they inject their special tranquilizing venom. This venom has a double action - it is a typical poison, which also carries a special tranquilizing compound that can induce wooziness, feelings of fatigue, and about 1 in 5 times, induce forced sleep. This venom allows giant tsetse flies to neutralize targets much larger or more powerful than themselves, allowing them to continue attacking and injecting more venom, until death ensues.
