An enormous arachnid, with the appearance of a scorpion. The giant scorpion is one of several species of giant insects bugs native to the Mazes, and one of two that are arachnids rather than insects (the other being the [[giant tarantula]]). It appears to be an enormous version of the ''[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabian_fat-tailed_scorpion androctonus crassicauda]''. They average at 4 feet in height, and are typically 5 feet 5 inches in length with the tail at rest, though they can reach 6 feet 3 inches with the tail fully extended. On average, these creatures weigh 50 to 65 lbspounds.
Giant scorpions are as dangerous as their size and species imply. With larger stingers come larger quantities of venom, which turns out to be fairly potent. It is advised to keep [[Meds|antivenom]] at the ready if you are expecting to encounter one (or several) of these fearsome creatures.
