Their bodies are covered with thick layers of chitinous armor, rendering them partially bullet-resistant. Many types of projectiles have been observed visibly stopping and flattening on their bodies. It is recommended to use some type of armor-piercing bullet, or failing that, an overall more powerful caliber, in order to properly deal with these creatures. Adventurers facing giant scorpions regularly recommend attacking as soon as possible so as to not give them a chance to hit back with their venomous stingers.

Like all members of the '''Bugs''' category, the origin of these creatures is unknown. Because they lack any magical or supernatural elements, it has been theorized that these creatures are the result of some type of past scientific experiment gone wrong, and that they have since escaped into the UA and become a species native to the Uncivilized Area.

An enormous arachnid, with the appearance of a scorpion.

The giant scorpion is one of several species of giant insects native to the Mazes. It appears to be an enormous version of the androctonus crassicauda. They average at 4 feet in height, and are typically 5 feet 5 inches in length with the tail at rest, though they can reach 6 feet 3 inches with the tail fully extended. On average, these creatures weigh 50 to 65 lbs.

Giant scorpions are as dangerous as their size and species imply. With larger stingers come larger quantities of venom, which turns out to be fairly potent. It is advised to keep antivenom at the ready if you are expecting to encounter one (or several) of these fearsome creatures.

Like all members of the Bugs category, the origin of these creatures is unknown. Because they lack any magical or supernatural elements, it has been theorized that these creatures are the result of some type of past scientific experiment gone wrong, and that they have since escaped and become a species native to the Uncivilized Area.
