The giant mamba is a gigantic version of the black mamba (dendroaspis polylepis). This creature is very large, averaging at 20 feet of length and capable of reaching weights in excess of 500 pounds.

Like their smaller counterparts, giant mambas are not actually completely black, but rather shades of dark gray with a whitish underside. Although they lack the spiny scales of a giant spiny viper, they make up for it with their sheer size, allowing them to resist damage with more ease, and with a more potent venom, making their bites much more dangerous despite not dealing much more damage. Giant mamba venom is among the most potent of naturally-occurring venoms in the Mazes, and cause the greatest amount of fatalities. Giant mambas are capable of delivering a fatal dose to an average human in just seven successful strikes. In other words, do not give giant mambas too many opportunities to bite you; they will seize it and bring you down.

Despite their greater resistance to pain, these creatures do not possess bullet-resistant scales and are therefore not considered to be armored, like a crocodile or a giant thorny lizard. If you must fight one of these gigantic serpents, keep your distance, use powerful weapons and expanding ammunition if applicable, and always keep antivenom at hand.
