When standing on all four legs, the gavodborz can already be considered a massive creature, with an average height of 5 foot 6 inches and a weight of 240 lbs. However, the borz, as it is sometimes shortened, has the uncanny ability to stand on its hind legs and walk (though only for short distances). It is believed that this ability is largely for intimidation, as standing up causes it to rise to nearly seven feet in height, and it frequently growls, howls, and beats its chest with its claws while doing so, akin to an enraged [[gorilla]]. All gavodborzes have gray or silvery fur. Eye color is either reddish-brown or black.
It is a notoriously intimidating and murderous beast, seemingly enjoying to make a show out of tearing apart its opponents, eating their remains, or splattering blood over their faces or their bodies. This suggests that the gavodborz has enough intelligence to be ''knowingly'' scary to other creatures, and that it is making efforts to be as intimidating as it is dangerous. Unsurprisingly, the gavodborz is a carnivorous creature, its diet being composed nearly entirely of meat supplemented with bone, which it is capable of crushing to a fine dustsmall chunks with its teeth, which it will then swallow chew and digestswallow; presumably as a method of supplementing the diet with phosphate.
The gavodborz is not all intimidation however; it is a legendary beast, seemingly built for combat. It is capable of delivering severe damage with its claws and teeth, it can fire ''frostblast'' beams much like a [[kallwolf]], and it can also spit large balls of magic energy known as ''mist balls''; projectiles about the size of an orange, which explode into clouds of obfuscating mist. These mist clouds are used to disorient opponents, or to conceal the borz's attempts to escape, should it take too much damage and need to retreat.
