Overview

Demonic creatures are employees of Hell, Inc., the Demonic faction.

Fiends are evolved imps. They possess taller, heavier and tougher bodies, averaging at 5 feet 5 inches tall and 140 pounds heavy. Their horns are still overall short, but are beginning to take on a sharper and more pointed shape, losing their original round and nubby aspect. Fiends still tend to wear simple clothing, with a tendency for black pants and shoes, and no shirt. The skin tone of a fiend is the trademark range of dark reds found in most demonic creatures, ranging between blood-red to wine.

Other than physical appearance, the main differences with their previous form lie in their general capabilities. Although they do not learn new demonic powers, fiends are more resistant to pain and damage, are more skilled fighters, and can draw from a larger pool of Demonic Energy, letting them cast fireballs more often. Their weapon skills are now more varied, and their teeth and claws are longer and sharper, with a prominent pair of pointed canine teeth. Lastly, the protective capabilities of their skin and flesh are improved, now equivalent to a suit of light armor.

Overall, fiends are simply more capable and dependable. They form the bulk of demonic forces in the Mazes; exact numbers are not known, but they are believed to be slightly more numerous than imps, and far more than any other type of demonic creature. In a certain sense, if the imp is a "recruit", the fiend is a fully trained "soldier" of Hell.

Within the demonic hierarchy, they are classified as Echelon 6 or General staff, above imps, of equal rank to cubi, and under cacobarons and vampires. The vast majority of fiends will stagnate at this level, with only a fairly low percentage (estimated to be 20% to 25%) eventually gaining enough experience to evolve into their next form, the cacobaron.
