The FN Herstal M249 Minimi (also simply called M249 or Minimi) is a 5.56x45mm NATO machine gun.

Other information

• The M249 Minimi can be fed using either M27 belts or STANAG magazines. Only one feeding method can be used at a time. If this weapon is equipped with a STANAG magazine, the amount of Condition lost on a critical failure is doubled.

Static M249

The Static M249 is a modified FN Herstal M249 Minimi found on 5.56mm MG emplacements. It is effectively identical to the standard M249, but lacks a bipod, instead featuring a tripod mount.

The tripod mount replaces the integrated bipod, and provides all of the following effects:

• Static weapon: It cannot be equipped or added to the inventory.
• FT -1
• Recoil -2
• IS tier +2
