Navigation: Main Page Game mechanics Abilities Draft:Shaft Splitter Technique

The Shaft Splitter Technique is an ability and a combat technique.

Requirements

To be able to perform this technique, your character must be equipped with:

  • An archery weapon of any kind, as long as it can fire more than one shot per turn (so most crossbows are excluded)

Use

The Shaft Splitter Technique is a method in which an archer tries to split the shaft of one arrow by firing a second arrow at it, causing it to splinter. This comes at the expense of rate of fire. When using this ability, the following effects are activated:

  • Maximum shots per turn reduced to 1.
  • The archer will fire one shot with their normal IS on the first turn. This shot must hit, or the technique is cancelled.
  • On the second turn, the archer will fire one shot at IS C, which is slower than U.
    • Successful hits (including inaccurate hits) while shaft splitting are converted into critical hits instead.
