The dexter cow (or simply dexter; when referring to the species in general, dexter cattle) is a creature belonging to the Domestic animals category.

This creature has no attacks at all, nor does it have the ability to use weapons. Therefore it is completely defenseless.

• Delicacy meat: When butchered, this creature's meat is considered to be a delicacy, worth double the value of regular game meat.
• Milkable: You may use this creature to transform an empty plastic bottle into a bottle of milk. This can be done as many times as desired.
  • At the GM's discretion, a group of these creatures may have one member that is actually be a male (bull) rather than a female (cow); making it non-milkable.

Naming:

• Because it is far more likely to encounter a cow than a bull, this creature's name is dexter cow - however, GMs may at their discretion refer to the overall species as dexter cattle and differentiate at their own convenience.

Dexter cattle are a type of bovine creature. Their coats are usually either tan or brown, and they are kept as cattle in traditional land farms, in herds of various sizes. As with other bovines, males kept for breeding are known as bulls, other males are referred to as steers, and females are heifers when they haven't yet had a calf (a baby), and become cows when they do.

Though much larger than mini zebus, dexter cows are still considered to be a relatively short species of bovine; adults of both sexes are 3 feet tall on average, but are larger and wider, with average weights reaching 600 to 700 pounds for cows, and 900 to 1000 pounds for bulls.

Dexter cattle are extremely useful to farmers, as they can pull triple duty of being useful for meat, milk, and as draft animals. Usually, however, farms will designate subgroups among their herd of dexters, and each subgroup will be focused on only one of the three.

As with other bovines, the meat of dexter cattle, generally referred to as beef, is prized for its taste and its inclusion in many recipes; therefore it is considered more valuable. Although it is rare nowadays, it is still possible to find dexter cows (even more rarely, bulls) in the 'wild', in the Uncivilized Area. They are generally animals that have escaped a town's farm area, though some herds can still be found living in the wild, typically in outside areas where grass exists and therefore can be grazed on.
