A ''caporegime'' is a senior member of the [[Yatela Crime Syndicate]]. The word comes from the [[Tal|Old Tongue]], constructed from the words '''''Kapi''''' (Chief, leader) and '''''Rezim''''' (Regiment, brigade). The constructed word '''''Kapirezim''''' would therefore mean "leader of a regiment" or "[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brigadier brigadier]"; it was then corrupted into the current form. It is unknown why the current pronunciation (''kah-po-ray-gee-may'') was chosen; rumors say that it was chosen over a more conventional one because it sounded more regal and impressive, and would therefore be more memorable.

On average, capos are rarely younger than 40 years old, and more often than not are male. All have had years of experience working for the Syndicate, and many have scars and wounds to show for it. As leaders of their own crew, they effectively have no superiors at the local level and answer directly to the leadership of the Syndicate; namely, the Don and his entourage.

A caporegime is a senior member of the Yatela Crime Syndicate. The word comes from the Old Tongue, constructed from the words Kapi (Chief, leader) and Rezim (Regiment, brigade). The constructed word Kapirezim would mean "leader of a regiment" or "brigadier"; it was then corrupted into the current form. It is unknown why the current pronunciation (kah-po-ray-gee-may) was chosen; rumors say that it was chosen over a more conventional one because it sounded more regal and impressive, and therefore, more memorable.

The duties of a capo are largely the same as those of an enforcer; they simply manage their gang or crew of enforcers instead of a network of associates. This does place them in command of trusted members of the Syndicate, and in turn, places a lot of responsibility on them. Capos are expected to run profitable businesses or operations on top of taking their enforcers' tributes and are meant to be the organization's trusted lieutenants.

On average, capos are rarely younger than 40 years old, and more often than not are male. All have had years of experience working for the Syndicate, and many have scars and wounds to show for it.

The rank of caporegime is the highest that can be attained by a typical member of the Syndicate. Nearly all of the higher positions (Boss, Don, Consigliere) are reserved for the actual members of the Yatela family.
