Any-Throw is an ability and a combat technique.

Description

This technique allows the effective use of nearly any weapon as a thrown weapon, even if they are not designed for that purpose.

Requirements

This ability is not initially available and must be unlocked. To unlock this ability, your character must reach Expert level in the Thrown weapons combat skill.

Once unlocked, to be able to perform this combat technique, your character must be equipped with the following:

  • A suitable weapon; see the section below for details.

Use

Any-Throw allows a character to treat an equipped weapon as a thrown weapon. It is essentially a ranged version of Any-Bash and uses the same "bludgeoning damage" rules, though it will deal slightly less Pain damage; see the table below for exact values.

Any-Throw can be used even if the equipped weapon is already designed to be thrown, however inefficient that may be.

All weapons used with Any-Throw call for the Thrown weapons skill.

For every successful hit when using Any-Throw, the weapon used loses 500 Condition. The Condition lost is removed at the end of the turn for the sake of convenience, after counting hits and damage. Beware, as it may result in the damage, if not destruction, of the weapon used as a thrown weapon.

  • If using a weapon that does not have a Condition meter (such as hand grenades, or certain weapons like the longbow), using them with Any-Throw will always irreparably break or destroy them, as though they had less than 500 Condition.
